Our Story:

The Charles R. Blyth Fund is a Stanford University student managed portfolio. Since 1978, we’ve been overseeing approximately $140,000 in stocks, bonds, ETFs, and options. We meet twice a week and have finance training sessions, team stock pitches, market discussions, and creative team-oriented challenges like lightning-round stock pitches. The fund is oriented towards training and educating its members. Moreover, we are an open-membership organization – everyone is welcome to sit in on our meetings and participate in discussions.

The fund is led by the Co-Presidents who manage the fund’s activities, operations, and finances. The Co-Presidents come from the Directors, the leaders in the fund with over a year of investing experience who are responsible for leading pitch teams and bringing in new investment ideas. The Directors provide the training sessions and lead the meeting discussions. The Directors come from the Associates, members of the fund who have had 2 or more quarters of investing experience with the fund.

Blyth Fund Alumni run multi-billion dollar product groups, manage billion dollar private equity funds, hedge funds, are partners at top firms, and have started many companies.

The Blyth Fund is a non-profit organization and is named after Charles R. Blyth, a well respected investment banker from the 1900s.
